October 19, 2011

Dear Colleagues:

Below is information about November and December 2011 holidays, as well as the University of Miami holiday schedule for calendar year 2012. A few highlights:

The Friday after Thanksgiving is a working day for the Miller School of Medicine campus and UHealth; it is a holiday for the Coral Gables and Rosenstiel School campuses. The last working day before the year-end holiday season begins is Thursday, December 22, for the Coral Gables and Rosenstiel School campuses and December 23 for the Miller School campus and UHealth.

Departments located on the Coral Gables and Rosenstiel School campuses are encouraged to close operations, where possible, on December 28 and 29; however, employees will be required to utilize accrued vacation and/or floating holiday time to remain in pay status.

Managers should use discretion in planning departmental and divisional holiday celebrations and continue to be conservative in the use of University resources.

Thank you for all you do to make the University a special place. I wish you and your family a happy and healthy holiday season.

Best regards,

Joe Natoli
Senior Vice President for Business and Finance
and Chief Financial Officer
