Engineering Students Win National Recognition

Stopping Diabetes

Many of the faculty, staff, and students who turned out for the UStop Diabetes event at the University Center Patio on October 15 had a story to tell about being affected by the disease—either as the relative or friend of a diabetic or as someone who suffers from the condition. Those stories made it clear why it was important for them to attend. The event, presented by the American Diabetes Association, included glucose screenings conducted by students and faculty of the School of Nursing and Health Studies, fitness classes led by Herbert Wellness Center instructor Janette Janero, giveaways, and healthy food cooking demonstrations by Whole Foods Market. | more

To take advantage of this new service, just walk into the Coral Gables clinic on Tuesdays or the Miller School clinic on Wednesdays between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. No appointment is necessary, and there is no charge for the visit. | more

Mary Zimmerman’s adaptation of Ovid’s drama takes the poet’s tales to a stunning visual life, juxtaposing the ancient and the contemporary in both language and image.
